RED CARPET:
It's my favorite part of the show. I watch the red carpet arrivals on E! because they interview the stars and also focus on what the stars are wearing. The outfits are the main reason I watch any award show. I don't watch half the shows or movies that get nominated so the actual show is extra for me. Anyways, here are my list of faves from the red carpet.
Katharine Mcphee looked really lovely in her black dress with the long slit. Loved her shoes too.
Bradley Cooper: His eyes....gawwwwjuss!!!
Lucy Liu: She looked divine in Carolina Herrera. I'm normally a fan of printed evening gowns but her dress blew me away!
Jennifer Lawrence: Loved her dress. It's hit or miss with Jennifer on the red carpet but her dress for the golden globes was a win. She wore a red Dior haute couture dress which looked amazing on her lovely figure. She has a tiny waist.
Naomi Watts: Loved her maroon dress. It was simple with a dramatic train, which I loved.
Taylor Swift: Her eggplant dress was really lovely on her. I really liked the back of her mermaid-styled
dress.
Julianne Moore looked amazing in her black and white Tom Ford dress. She's one person that rarely disappoints on the red carpet and she didn't disappoint this time.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner: I was excited to see them on the red carpet. I've been rooting for Ben since his Gigli days and was hoping to see his career back on track. He has finally made it back and was seen on the red carpet with his lovely wife, Jennifer Garner whom I adore. Of course Ben looked really fine in his tuxedo and Jennifer looked really lovely.
Anne Hathaway's outfit was simple yet oh-so gorgeous! I wasn't a fan of her hair cut when she chopped it off but I'm in love with it now. It really suits her and brings out her beautiful face.
Jessica Alba: I didn't see her on the red carpet but I loved her dress.
A tad disappointed by the following:
Jessica Chastain: I usually look forward to seeing her on the red carpet. Unfortunately, I wasn't crazy about her dress.
Amanda Seyfried: She's such a pretty girl but she's another actress that is either hit or miss on the red carpet. She seems like a laid back person and I think her style is laid back as well but I wish she stepped out of the box. I didn't like her Givenchy dress. It was kinda blah to me.
Kerry Washington. I liked her dress but I didn't like it for the event. She wore better dresses while she was abroad promoting Django Unchained.

HOSTS:
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey actually looked better during the opening than they did on the red carpet.
I laughed out loud when they said Ricky Gervais couldn't be there because he was no longer in show business. I thought that was funny. I love me some Ricky Gervais though. I found these lines funny as well:
- "I haven't seen you more alone than you were with James Franco at the Oscars." (One of the hosts to Anne Hathaway because of their not so exciting hosting job at the Oscars).
- "Meryl Steep cannot be here, I heard she had the flu and is amazing in it."
- "What a very special guest. That was Hilary Clinton's husband."
- "Taylor Swift, stay away from Michael J. Fox's son."
I also liked how they effortlessly interacted with the audience. Overall, I think they did a great job. Wish I saw more of them.
FAVORITE PARTS OF THE SHOW:
Jennifer Garner thanking George Clooney and the other producer of Argo on behalf of her husband. How cute was that?
Jeremy Renner. That man is hot. There is something about him that I just love. Looking at him for a few seconds was nice. :)
Victor Garber getting on stage to join the director, producers and stars of Argo. Victor Garber played Jennifer Garner's (Ben's wife) dad on Alias.

SURPRISES:
Bill Clinton. I wasn't expecting to see him at all. Loved that he got a standing ovation. Of course I love me some Bill. He came to present the movie Lincoln. Very nice surprise. Looked like Steven Spielberg was humbled by Bill's appearance.
Quentin Tarantino's win for best screenplay for Django Unchained. He got a lot of flak for this movie because of the subject matter of the movie so I wasn't expecting that he'd win. I'm glad he did.
Don Cheadle's win for House of lies.
Ben Affleck's win for Argo. I thought he would win but after they mentioned the heavyweights he was competing against, I had doubts. His acceptance speech was cute and I'm glad he didn't forget to thank his wife.

COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT:
Christolph Waltz's poetry. Dude always recites poetry when he gives his acceptance speeches. Wish Leonardo won. I want to know who Leonardo DiCaprio offended that makes sure he gets repeatedly shunned at these shows. I'll pray for you, Leo. Worry not, your day shall come.
Sasha Baron Cohen's comment about Anne Hathaway's V-jay-jay picture.
Jodie Foster's long speech. What did we ever do to her to be subjected to that long speech? I didn't listen attentively to all of what she said, but the gist of what she was saying is that she's a gay woman and she was grateful for her career, her children and her mother. Congrats to her on her lifetime achievement award. It's not easy to be in Hollywood for over forty years.

EXCITED FOR:
Adele. I'm so glad she won for her song Skyfall. She so beautiful and talented. Taylor Swift didn't look too pleased when she was not announced as the winner.
Kevin Costner. I grew up watching and loving Kevin Costner's movies (The Bodyguard, Untouchables, etc.) and I was excited to see him win because in Hollywood, older actors are normally overlooked and forgotten. Glad he's still in the game and winning!
Jennifer Lawrence. She's adorable and it was nice to see her win for Silver Linings Playbook. I haven't seen the movie though *looks away* so I don't know if she was deserving. Nice that she was able to say she beat Meryl Streep. That's no easy feat.
Don Cheadle. It's not often that he gets recognized for his work.
Ben Affleck. I love a good comeback story and I have been rooting for Ben for a while.
