Did you know...

Can you name the two presidents who nominated the two African-American United States Supreme Court Justices?

I guessed Bill Clinton when I read the question in a magazine. *hangs head in utter shame* I didn't even think about when they were nominated. *smh* Who did you guess? Check out the answer after the cut!

Answers:

  • President Lyndon B. Johnson nominated Thurgood Marshall in 1967.
  • President George H.W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas on July 1, 1991. He was nominated to fill Thurgood Marshall's seat after Justice Marshall retired.

So, how did you do?

  1. Those were the least names in my head, who would have thought Bush Snr would nominate a black man.
