Mr. Chopra was born in Lahore on September 27, 1932. He began his film career as an assistant director to I.S. Johar and his elder brother, B.R. Chopra. He made his directorial debut with Dhool Ka Phool in 1959. His last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan will release posthumously on November 13.
Wow. He will be missed in Bollywood. A lot of actors and actresses in bollywood dreamed of working with him and under his banner, and those that did considered it one of the highlights of their careers. I've seen some of this work too, and yes, he was the king of romance in Bollywood. Veer Zaara is one of my favorites. May his soul rest in peace.
